I wrote the TFC Launcher Program because I could not find a simple launcher program for Half-Life TFC (of course, I could be blind) that had all the basic variables for the server.cfg file
TFC Launcher 7.00 -
1/21/2002....I jumped up a few version numbers.. got tired of seeing 2.**
I finally got it working under Windows XP/2000/ME/NT/98.
It works in dedicated server and listen server.
I also fixed some other bugs that I found...also fixed the order of some of the
variables.
I have been using it a couple of days on Windows XP and it works just fine.
TFC Launcher 2.30 -
2/19/2001...I fixed a couple more bugs, for some reason the Dedicated
Server
Game would not always launch, when it did you could not join it.
I also fixed some cosmetic things.
If you have Version 2.20 installed you can just download the upgrade to version
2.30
TFC Launcher 2.20...I
fixed the bug of the program listing the maps more than once.
I also fixed a couple of other cosmetic type bugs and stuff.
TFC Launcher 2.05.. fixed a couple of bugs with the mapcycle and the amount of players.
TFC Launcher Version 2.04.... I re-made a couple of the controls to colored ones on the autoexec.cfg and server.cfg pages.
In
Version 2.03 I fixed a couple of things and added some things....
I fixed the
problem where the program would not handle
the setting
of the users system fonts to Large instead of small.
Although, I
still feel that the program does look better in smaller fonts.
If you need help
setting your system display fonts to small, go here:
System Display Fonts...
I added a 'Stop Server' button so you can just click on it to stop the dedicated server.
You can
now run a listenserver.
It will now
read from existing autoexec.cfg and server.cfg files regardless
of the format.
Previous
formats for the config files had to be with the field name on the
left and then the value on the right, separated by one tab
space. It will now read the values of the config files
regardless of how many spaces or tabs are between the field names
and their values in these files.
The latest version can be set for whatever drive and directory your
Half-Life files are on.
The first two versions would only work on Drive C:
\Sierra\Half-Life\
or Drive D
:\Sierra\Half-Life.
The latest version has more tool tips for each field value. I added buttons to the Server.cfg and Autoexec.cfg screens so you can set all field values to their default. Drag and Drop were added to the mapcycle.txt file selection. You can just choose a map from the list on the left side and by grabbing it with the mouse and then drop it on the right side.. don't forget to save your mapcycle.txt by hitting the save button.
I added a text box for the Message of the Day (motd).
I also
fixed a bug it had with running what ever maps you selected for
the mapcycle.txt (so now it works.)
Added a
TrashCan Icon to the Mapcycle File area if you want to
clear all the maps on the mapcycle file listing side (the right side).
Added
buttons on all screens to re-read the values from your files....
mapcycle.txt , server.cfg , and autoexec.cfg
If anyone knows of more field values I should add to the Server.cfg or the Autoexec.cfg screens, please email me at the email address to the right-->.... And thanks in advance !!
When you
start the TFC Launcher Program it fills in the screens with the
values from your autoexec.cfg, server.cfg, motd.txt, and
mapcycle.txt files.
If it does
not find an the above mentioned files, it will create them with
their default values, if any are required.
The program also looks at your \Sierra\Half-Life\TFC\Maps directory for a list of all the maps you may have for TFC.
The program also gives you the ability to
start a dedicated TFC Server.
You can
then join your own game right from the same screen.
